Heating Stages
The group owns a TS1500V-Linkam system, which is a portable-high temperature furnace (pictured below). The furnace is capable of heating small amounts of material to 1500˚C in either a vacuum or an inert environment.
Due to the size and design of this furnace, we use can use it for in-situ X-ray synchrotron diffraction experiments, in which we characterise phase transformations and precipitation as function of temperature and time.
