The Structural Materials Group is dedicated to the fundamental understanding and industrial application of high-performance structural materials. The group is led by four members of academic staff: Professor Howard Stone, Professor Nick Jones, Dr David Collins, and Dr Nicole Church.
Collectively we seek to:
- Deliver fundamental research into structural materials for high-performance applications.
- Train the next generation of materials scientists and metallurgical engineers.
- Collaborate with academia and industry to translate materials innovation into practice.
