Hardness Testing
The group operates a Qness Q30 automatic hardness testing system (below), capable of performing Vickers, Brinell, and Rockwell hardness measurements across a load range of 0.01 to 30 kgf. The system supports automated indentation sequences with motorised stage positioning, enabling efficient hardness mapping and case depth profiling across a specimen surface. This makes it well suited to assessing spatial variations in hardness arising from heat treatment, deformation, or microstructural gradients, such as those found in welded or surface-treated components.
