Yue Xiao

My research will focus on phase evolution in Zr-Nb shape memory alloys, especially nanoscale precipitates and their effect on elastic modulus and mechanical response. I will use synchrotron X-ray diffraction data from Diamond Light Source, together with ex situ diffraction and mechanical testing, to study how composition and heat treatment affect these phase changes.
