My research focuses on the characterisation of FeCo alloys, a soft magnetic alloy with applications in hybrid and electric aviation. I work between the Structural Materials group and the EM group, developing and using TEM techniques to investigate the order in these alloys, with a particular focus on 4D-STEM. As part of this, I help develop workflows to analyse these data using HyperSpy and Pyxem Python packages. I also investigate the magnetic structure in these alloys and then correspond this with micromagnetic simulations using GPU accelerated Mumax3 package. In addition, I use other techniques as part of my research, including SEM (FIB/EBSD), synchrotron XRD, and VSM.
